Taxonomy of Brophyllum:- 

 Bryophyllum is commonly known as Goethe Plant.  It is a member of the family crassulaceae.

Family:- Crassulaceae
Genus:- Bryophyllum




Propagation:- 

The propagation of this plant is both sexual and asexual. This plant reproduces sexually by the fusion of the gametes. It has a unique property of asexual reproduction through its leaves. If its leaves are cut and planted, then those leaves give rise to a new plant. Basically for its propagation, its leaves are cut and planted in such a way that its tip portion of the leaf remains out of the ground and its portion near to the stem gets buried into the soil.  

Medicinal value:-

Bryophyllum is a medicinal plant that is used in the traditional medicine of Nepal and other countries for curing various infections, wounds, bowel diseases and other ailments. There are some of the facts that prove the anticancer properties of this plant. It is also consumed by the patients of the kidney stone and urinary insufficiency. Since it is used in Kidney stone treatment, it is also commonly known as pattharkatta.
